Yonah Alexander, PhD

Director, Inter-University Center for Terrorism Studies, Potomac Institute for Policy Studies

Professor Yonah Alexander is the Director of the Inter-University Center for Terrorism Studies and Senior Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies as well as the Director of the Inter-University Center for Legal Studies at the International Law Institute in Washington, D.C. For over forty years he also served as professor of international studies and director of institutes and programs on terrorism at State University of New York, Georgetown University, the George Washington University, and other academic institutions around the world. Educated at Columbia University (PhD) and the University of Chicago (MA), Professor Alexander has also provided academic advice on conventional and unconventional security challenges to governments, international organizations, and the private sector.

Professor Alexander is founder and editor-in-chief of several academic international journals and has also published over 100 books and numerous other studies on a wide range of security related topics. Professor Alexander’s works have been translated into dozens of languages and his personal papers and collection on terrorism are housed at the Hoover Institution Library and Archives at Stanford University.
